What did you think of this episode? What was your favourite moment? Your favourite line? If you have any thoughts about the episode, please share them in the comments below!

  • I was at this recording!

    Buying up small airlines……………….

  • Hurray! Martin’s got a Bobsled! <3 this chapter

  • I liked Teresa, but I hope they don’t push her into being a love interest. I don’t see Martin as a particularly boyfriend-y romantic guy. Arthur was great with Max because they are so alike. Also, I’ll take Herc if Carolyn doesn’t want him.

  • I loved this episode, I love the ones where Martin wins!

    • same here: poor Martin deserves to win from time to time

      • He got his bobsled :)

  • Liked it a lot. So many giggles! But was more of a setup episode I suppose. The princess was brilliant, and of course Martin finally getting that date to the museum was just so good to hear.

I do wonder whether we are being set up to have Herc take over as captain instead of Martin. And though that would be not a bad thing at all, am so not ready to say goodbye to Martin!! I will however love Cabin Pressure to continue and Anthony Head is just such a brilliant voice as Herc, I will love to hear him every episode.

And oh Carolyn! I do so want to tap you gently on the head! I hope they make it together.

I need to re-listen to catch all the small funny stuff that went past while I was shaking with laughter. To next week!

    • I thought the same about Herc being captain- but he and Douglas would never work together again surely, neither would be able to stand being copilot to the other, but other than that it could work. I need to stop speculating so much

  • Yes, there are some worrying bits this season that make me nervous it could be the last – but, if it is, it has been an amazing time. I adore these characters.

So very happy for our captain – he gets himself not just any girl, but a princess! How much fun would that be if he marries a princess. Love the thought of it. She saved him from the dragon….ahh….

Have to relisten, I caught some of the lines as they were whizzing by but need to hear some again – as always, such genus in how everything wraps up at the end –

So far, last week’s still my favorite out of the three – but, I love ‘em all, like a cute, fluffy bunch of puppies -

    • I agree. If indeed this is the last series, it has been such a wonderful time. I can imagine re-visiting these characters again and again and enjoying myself.

I liked last week’s best too, but as you said, the cute fluffy bunch of em are excellent.

      • What I am really loving too, is the progression of Martin. Recognizing the silliness and pretentiousness of his medals and some other vulnerabilities he is exhibiting of late.

How cute was it when he said he that when he was little he wanted to be a pilot – I almost died; wanted to give the poor guy a hug and pat on the head.

        • Martin has progressed from ridiculous to highly lovable. He was always slightly vulnerable, but you can see his confidence showing. I think being with Douglas and definitely being with Arthur is making him a better, less pompous person.

It was touching to see him finally connect with someone and with such childlike enthusiasm! I wanted to hug him too!

  • So will Herc’s redundancy finance a second plane. Can you imagine Herc and Martin flying together or even Herc and Douglas….just like the old Air England days.

    • This is exactly what I was thinking/hoping. Fingers crossed.

  • Well done Martin who needs an NTA award when you’ve got a princess!!

  • With an exquisite pang I realize that with “Vaduz” we are now HALFWAY THROUGH the LAST series of Cabin Pressure. Memo: kidnap John Fennermore and confine him someplace comfortable until he adds 6 new letters to the alphabet to continue CP series 5.

  • A touching, amusing but somewhat worrying episode. Will Herc replace Martin? Is it a coincidence Zurich would be the last place on John’s alphabet? Could Martin fly off into the sunset with the his Princess?
(Anyone else spot Matilda Zeigler was Pearl Pratt in Larkrise?)

  • To be really honest: Vaduz wasn’t my favourite episode. Just like with Cremona I like certain tidbits and lines, but I’m not happy with the story. Liechtenstein doesn’t really have a king either (the official title of the highest sovereign is ‘Prince’) and I have troubles believing that they would hire MJN rather than a Swiss/Austrian/German company to get to and from Fitton – not that I take everything seriously with CP, but most of the other stuff so far was at least plausible.
I got the Herk and ‘buying up small airlines’ bit – dunno if this may be the final season, we’re nearly at the end of the alphabet after all.

  • I really hope this isnt the end. I mean, W is probably Wokingham what with Martin’s family being involved. ButZ for Zurich…… I like Theresa, but it either means that they’ll get married or break up. Breaking up means that CP can continue on, presuming they can get the good actors again. (I really can’t imagine Cabin Pressure without Martin, though Herc is pretty funny.)
Argh, that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
Relistening. Theyre going around the holding pattern. (It’s kind of funny still. And now I’ve got a headcanon that there’s someone sitting and watching GERTI going around.)

  • Utterly brilliant, I loved every second of it! PleeeeeaSe, don’t let this be the last series :’(

  • Douglas and Arthur have been missing this season. In fact we’ve glossed over the really sad fact that Douglas’ “terrific Mrs. Richardson” is no longer with him :( I know she cheated and all. But a divorce is rough. Maybe not that rough with these three though. Their exes can after all almost put up a football team

But am happy for Carolyn and Herc and now Martin! I can just see this wrapping up a little. And am selfish and want it to go on forever!

    3 more to go!

  • Thought this one was beautifully written and that Matilda Ziegler was terrific. Great that Martin has a princess to look after him! Every member of the cast is wonderful but it looks as if the way is being paved for Martin’s departure. Very sad about that if that’s the case. I can’t see how it could work with Anthony Head plus Roger Allam because the characters they play are too similar. Am hoping that if the series continues, Benedict could get three days off again to record some more !

  • This is one of my favorite episodes of the entire series. So many delightful moments.

Arthur playing Maxie’s henchman with his suggestion to the Sheikh of Qatar that he “command them to cut their own head off” and his righteous indignation with Maxie’s impromptu Yellow Car rules.

Someone finally putting Carolyn in her place, “I am Her Serene Highness Princess Theresa Gustava Bonaventura of Liechtenstein, Countess of Sponheim and Protector Extraordinary of the Cantons of NĂ®mes! Who are you?”

Karl’s jokes about life on the “Magic Round-about” and the fuel mix-up with Otto.

Martin’s new venture into self-awareness as he admonishes Maxie that letting everyone know you outrank them really isn’t the way to make friends.

And I love the perfect “fairy-tale ending” with Martin finding a love interest in a princess. I didn’t notice and wouldn’t have been the least bit offended by the factual inconsistencies with Liechtenstein’s actual royal heirarchy.

My least favorite part are the interactions between Carolyn and Herc. I cringe a bit at some of Carolyn’s remarks . I mean, really now, what’s to love about someone who consistently treats you with that much distain? I realize it’s what makes Carolyn Carolyn, but yeesh Herc much have some serious self-esteem issues to take the mountains of abuse she heaps upon him. I guess I’m too used to seeing Anthony Head as the strong silent type (well with the exception of the Band Candy episode S3-E6) in 7 seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

So, what do you think?
