Cabin Pressure Nominated for Broadcasting Press Guild Award
Some good news abounds! This week, Cabin Pressure was nominated for an award in the Broadcasting Press Guild’s annual awards. Cabin Pressure has been nominated in the Radio Programme of the Year category – It doesn’t get much higher than that – and is one of four nominations in the category. The BPG awards are highly prized by programme-makers because they are selected independently, by journalists who write about TV and radio – correspondents, critics and previewers.
The Broadcasting Press Guild is an association of journalists who specialise in writing and broadcasting about television, radio and the media generally. The Guild exists to further professional relations between its members and the people we are writing about, namely, those engaged in broadcasting.
Nominations in the Radio Programme of the Year category are as follows:
– James Joyce’s Ulysses (BBC Radio 4)
– Cabin Pressure (BBC Radio 4)
– Soul Music (BBC Radio 4)
– Words and Music (BBC Radio 3)
You can find out about the awards in full on the Guild’s website: http://www.broadcastingpressguild.org/
The winners will be announced next month at the BPG Awards lunch at One Whitehall Place on Thursday March 14th, 2013. Fingers crossed Cabin Pressure will bring home the gong!

Gosh, some stiff opposition there, especially with no sub-categories for Comedy or Drama. However in the TV categories, Parade’s End Sherlock and The Thick of It are all nominated so Carolyn’s boys should be in with some chance!
